Privacy Policy — Letter Ledger

Last updated: July 14, 2026

Letter Ledger ("the app") is a mobile word game developed by Tinker Apps.

Data Controller

The data controller responsible for the app's operation is:

Tinker Apps (independent developer)
United States
tinkerapps.support@gmail.com

Google LLC may act as an independent data controller for data collected through Google AdMob and Google Play Billing. Tinker Apps and Google are separate controllers. This policy describes Tinker Apps' integration of third-party services, but Google's independent processing is governed by Google's own policies at https://policies.google.com/privacy.

Data We Collect

Tinker Apps does not directly collect personal data through its own servers; however, integrated third-party services may process certain data as described below.

Game progress, statistics, scores, and settings are saved locally on your device only and are not transmitted to Tinker Apps servers.

The following data is collected by third-party SDKs integrated into the app:

Data collected by third-party SDKs is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). These third-party services operate as independent data controllers (or as processors acting on Tinker Apps' behalf) and process data according to their own privacy policies.

Word Suggestions

The app includes an optional feature that lets you suggest a word for the game. If you choose to submit a suggestion, the word you enter — along with the selected category and game mode — is sent to a Google Form operated by Tinker Apps so we can review it. Submissions are voluntary and are sent only when you tap submit; if you never use this feature, no suggestion data is sent.

Please do not include personal information in a suggestion. We use submissions solely to review and improve the game's word lists. Suggestions are collected through Google Forms and stored under Tinker Apps' Google account, subject to Google's Privacy Policy. We do not associate suggestions with your device, account, or any identifier.

Security

Local game data is stored exclusively in your device's sandboxed app storage and is not accessible to other apps. In-app purchases are processed entirely through Google Play's secure billing infrastructure; no payment data passes through Tinker Apps systems. All third-party SDK communications use encrypted connections. While these measures reflect current best practices for an app of this type, no method of data storage or transmission is completely secure.

Permissions

The app requires internet access to serve ads, process purchases, and support analytics and crash reporting. The app does not request precise location, contacts, microphone, or camera permissions. The Advertising ID permission is used solely by Google AdMob for ad serving and measurement.

Advertising

The app displays ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob may use your device's Advertising ID to serve and measure ads. You can reset or limit ad tracking at any time in your device's Google settings. Users who purchase the ad-free upgrade will no longer be shown any ads. For AdMob's data practices, see https://support.google.com/admob/answer/6128543. For details of how Google uses information — including IP addresses — from sites and apps that use its services, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.

Users in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland are shown a Google consent request (through Google's User Messaging Platform, a Google-certified Consent Management Platform) before ads are personalized. If you consent, Google and its advertising partners may use your device's Advertising ID and related data to serve personalized ads. If you do not consent, ads are served non-personalized — not targeted using behavioral or personalized advertising profiles — though Google may still process limited contextual, security, fraud-prevention, and measurement data necessary to deliver ads and to comply with applicable law.

Users outside the EEA, UK, and Switzerland may receive personalized ads based on their device's Advertising ID. You can reset or limit ad tracking at any time in your device's Google settings.

Managing or Withdrawing Your Consent

Where applicable, the app presents a Google consent message (provided through Google's User Messaging Platform) describing how data may be used for advertising and analytics. In the EEA, UK, and Switzerland, Firebase Analytics does not store or use device identifiers until you consent through this message; if you decline, analytics identifiers stay disabled. Your consent is revocable: you can change or withdraw the choices you made at any time.

To do so, open the app and go to Settings → Manage Ad Privacy Options. This re-opens the Google consent message, where you can review and update your advertising consent — withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it. Your updated choices take effect immediately for future ads. Withdrawing consent does not affect data already processed before the withdrawal, and it does not remove ads; it switches them to non-personalized (ads can be removed entirely only through the separate ad-free purchase).

Age Signals & Age-Appropriate Experiences

To support applicable U.S. state app-store age-verification laws (such as the Texas App Store Accountability Act, SB 2420), the app uses the Google Play Age Signals API. Where required by law in your region, Google Play may verify a user's age and provide the app with an age category (for example, an age range such as 0–12, 13–15, 16–17, or 18+) and parental-consent or supervision status.

The app uses this information only to provide an age-appropriate experience — specifically, to apply more restrictive, non-personalized advertising settings for users who are minors — and for legal compliance and safety, as permitted by these laws. In-app purchases are not restricted by the app based on this signal; purchases by minors are gated by Google Play's own parental-approval controls (such as Family Link / "Ask to Buy"). Tinker Apps does not use this age information for any other purpose and does not store it on its own servers. Age verification and parental consent are handled by Google Play. This signal is provided only for users in regions where it is legally required; in all other cases the app applies its standard settings.

International Data Transfers

Google AdMob, Google Play Billing, Firebase Crashlytics, and Firebase Analytics may transfer and process your data on servers located outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Google uses legally approved mechanisms for these international data transfers, including the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses where applicable. For more information, see https://policies.google.com/privacy/frameworks. Tinker Apps does not independently transfer personal data outside your country of residence.

In-App Purchases

The app offers two one-time, non-consumable in-app purchases, processed through Google Play Billing:

Tinker Apps does not receive or store any payment information. All billing data is handled by Google under their terms of service.

Third Parties

The app integrates the following third-party software development kits (SDKs) provided by Google. The app itself does not use cookies or web tracking pixels; these SDKs may use device identifiers and similar technologies to provide their services:

No additional third-party SDKs are included beyond those listed above. The optional word-suggestion feature submits data through Google Forms, as described under Word Suggestions. This list will be updated if new services are integrated in future versions.

Data Retention

Tinker Apps does not directly collect or retain personal data. Local game data (scores, settings, progress) remains on your device until you uninstall the app or clear app data in your device settings. Data processed by Google AdMob, Google Play Billing, Firebase Crashlytics, and Firebase Analytics is retained according to Google's own retention policies, which can be reviewed at https://policies.google.com/technologies/retention and https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy.

Data Deletion

You can delete all locally stored game data by uninstalling the app or clearing app data in your device settings. To request deletion of data held by Google, visit https://myaccount.google.com or contact Google directly.

Your Choices

You have several controls over the data processed through the app:

Legal Bases for Processing (EEA, UK & Switzerland)

Where EU/UK data protection law applies, Tinker Apps relies on the following legal bases:

Your Rights (EEA, UK & Switzerland)

If you are located in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, you have the following rights regarding personal data processed in connection with the app:

Since Tinker Apps does not directly collect or store personal data, most of these rights apply to data held by Google. You can exercise them through your Google account at https://myaccount.google.com or by contacting Google directly. To submit a request to Tinker Apps, use the contact details in the Data Subject Requests section below.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. In the EU, a list of national authorities is available at https://edpb.europa.eu/about-edpb/about-edpb/members_en. In the UK, the relevant authority is the Information Commissioner's Office at https://ico.org.uk.

Your Rights (U.S. State Privacy Laws)

Depending on your state of residence (for example, California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, or Texas), you may have rights under applicable state privacy laws, including the right to know what categories of personal information are collected, the right to delete personal information, the right to correct inaccurate information, and the right to opt out of targeted advertising or the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. Tinker Apps does not sell personal information and will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.

In particular, California residents have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA). Depending on your jurisdiction, the use of advertising identifiers by Google AdMob to serve personalized ads may be considered "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising under these laws. You can limit this by resetting or opting out of ad personalization in your device's Google settings; users in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland can manage their consent under Settings → Manage Ad Privacy Options. To submit a privacy request, contact us at tinkerapps.support@gmail.com.

Data Subject Requests

To exercise any privacy right or submit a data-related request, contact us at tinkerapps.support@gmail.com. Please include enough information to identify your request. We will respond within 30 days (or within the timeframe required by applicable law). Because Tinker Apps does not directly hold personal data, we may direct you to Google for requests relating to AdMob or billing data.

Children

The app is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. While the app is not directed to children, we use age signals where available (see Age Signals & Age-Appropriate Experiences above) to provide age-appropriate experiences and to comply with applicable laws. If you believe a child under 13 has used the app and personal information has been collected, contact us at tinkerapps.support@gmail.com and we will take appropriate steps.

Automated Decision-Making

The app does not use automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects concerning you.

Data Breach Notification

Tinker Apps does not directly hold personal data on its own infrastructure. In the event of a qualifying personal-data breach, and where required by applicable law, Tinker Apps will notify the relevant supervisory authorities and affected users without undue delay (for example, within 72 hours of becoming aware, as required under the GDPR). Data processed by Google services is also subject to Google's own breach-notification obligations.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The updated date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Where changes materially affect how your data is processed, we will take reasonable steps to notify you, and where legally required we will seek renewed consent before those changes take effect.
